Ingredients:
For the sauce
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 x 680g bottle tomato passata
For the meatballs
- 500g minced beef
- 2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 egg yolk
- 30g white breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 400g spaghetti
- grated parmesan cheese to serve
Instructions:
Step No:01
To begin making the sauce, place a frying pan over medium heat, add the onion and garlic, and sauté for a few minutes, or until the onion and garlic are tender. Add the passata and stir; set aside. The sauce should be simmered for 13 to 15 minutes to get a thick consistency.
Step No:02
To prepare the meatballs, combine the minced beef, egg yolk, breadcrumbs, garlic, and salt and pepper in a sizable bowl. Form into 12 meatballs now.
Step No:03
In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil, then add the meatballs. Cook for 4–5 minutes, or until the meatballs are browned all over. Stir the meatballs into the pan and reheat the sauce. For a further fifteen minutes, or until the meatballs are thoroughly cooked and the sauce has thickened, cover and simmer over medium heat.

As the meatballs cook, boil a big pan of salted water and prepare the spaghetti according to the package’s instructions. Enjoy the meatballs and sauce served over spaghetti.
