With a hint of spice from Buffalo sauce in each mouthful, these fried chicken sandwiches are incredibly moist and tender.
Ingredients:
- 3 (8 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- ⅔ cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon Buffalo sauce
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ cup canola oil, or as needed
- 6 hamburger buns
- 2 tablespoons Buffalo sauce, or to taste
- ½ cup sliced pickles
- 6 slices tomato
- 6 leaves lettuce, or more to taste
- 3 tablespoons ranch dressing, or more to taste
Instructions:
Step:No:01
Cut each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create two thin fillets. Put 6 fillets, 1 tablespoon Buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and buttermilk in a resealable zip-top bag. To mix the ingredients and coat the chicken evenly, seal the bag and shake. Store in the refrigerator for two hours or overnight.
Step:No:02
Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
Step:No:03
In a shallow pie pan, mix flour, poultry spice, and pepper. Using a fork or whisk, blend.
Step:No:04
Shake off any excess marinade before removing the chicken. Coat the chicken on both sides thoroughly and uniformly by dipping it into the breading mixture. Throw away any leftover marinade.
Step:No:05
Fill a large skillet with enough oil to cover the bottom completely, then heat over medium-high heat until the oil sizzles but does not smoke. Don’t crowd the skillet; just fit two chicken fillets in there comfortably. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden brown. After draining the chicken onto paper towels, cook the leftover chicken twice more, adding extra oil as needed. Chicken should be moved to a baking sheet.
Step:No:06
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken’s juices run clear and the middle is no longer pink, in a preheated oven. When placed in the center, an instant-read thermometer should read at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
Step:No:07
Take the chicken out of the oven. Put one of the chicken fillets on the lower portion of a bread. To taste, add Buffalo sauce. Add lettuce, tomato, and pickle slices on top. Line the inside of the top bun with ranch dressing and top with the sandwich. Continue to assemble the remaining sandwiches.
